• Beauty from the Ashes: A Virtual Community Action Project by Antelope Valley YouthBuild Featured

  On March 18, 2021, YouthBuild Charter School of California's Palmdale site at Antelope Valley YouthBuild hosted a virtual CAP (Community Action Project) called "Beauty from Ashes: A Virtual Empowerment Summit." The event featured several student speakers and talks from community leaders and community partners, as well as a showcase of projects and poetry that the students had worked on throughout the trimester. The focus was on the theme of "beauty from ashes" and overcoming challenges and obstacles. The full event was a little over two hours, so this video is a slightly condensed version of the entire Zoom recording. Shout out to all of the amazing students and staff who worked on this project!

  Our Palmdale Site at Antelope Valley YouthBuild held a "Trashion Show" as part of their Trimester 2 CAP, Art Peace. As part of the show, students were challenged with making outfits out of recycled materials for their fellow students, staff, and family members to wear.
