LA CAUSA YouthBuild Hosts Introduction to Catering Showcase

On Friday, March 18, 2022, students and staff at our East LA/ LA CAUSA YouthBuild site hosted an "Introduction to Catering Showcase," featuring a tasty buffet of small bites and three unique vinaigrettes created by students in Chef Orlando's Culinary Arts class. The menu included fresh bread, salsas, chicken skewers, a black bean dipping sauce, roasted vegetables, salads, birria, cheddar whipped potatoes, and a selection of sweet treats.
 
The event was part of their Community Action Project (CAP) with the theme of "Access to Healthy Food." You can help them with their CAP by filling out this survey about access to healthy foods in your community.
 
In addition to the delicious food, the event was also an opportunity to celebrate the end of Trimester 2. Teachers presented certificates to students who had perfect attendance and who demonstrated exceptional ability in their classes. They also honored seniors who completed all graduation requirements, including their senior portfolios.
